In 2013 the inaugural Reinforcement Learning and Decision Making conference (RLDM2013) included 25% women among the 85 registered faculty. While this number may be skewed by the number of women who were invited speakers (8 out of 27 speakers were women, which is closer to 30%), the proportion of women among the 84 then-postdocs who registered for the meeting (none of them invited speakers, but many of them faculty by now) was 24%. We therefore estimate the proportion of women in the field of reinforcement learning at large to be 24-25%.
