The base rate was calculated to be 47% (45 out of 95 unique PIs), based on a NIH RePORTER search in 2021 for grants using the keyword “precision psychiatry” and counting the total number of women among the first 100 unique PI names in the search results (5 PIs were excluded due to difficulty determining whether they were a woman or a man from name, photos, additional Google search).
